Bridesmaid Bracelet Size Tips & Suggestions

June 25th, 2010

When you’re ready to order your bridesmaids bracelets, you’ll need to select your bracelet size.  Because not all women are the same size, their bracelets shouldn’t be either.  Here’s some tips on how to choose your bridesmaid bracelet sizes.
Measuring Your Wrist: There are a couple of methods you can use to get the perfect bracelet size.

1.   Take a bracelet you already like the length of and measure it end to end.

2.  Take a loose measuring tape and wrap it around your wrist how you want the bracelet to fit, then take that measurement.

3.  Take a piece of string or thread, wrap it around your wrist the way you want it to fit, then measure that end to end.

When selecting your measurement, please note that we custom make your bracelet with the size you select, which includes the clasps, from end to end.

Extender Chains vs. No Extender Chains: On all of our bridesmaid bracelet selections, you’ll have the chance to upgrade and add an extender chain.  An extender chain is a cable style chain that is made right in with the bracelet.  It adds an adjustable element to the bracelet.

Positives of Extender Chains:

a.  If you are buying for a group of women, who all have different size wrists, you can order the smallest size and add extender chains to them all – this way you’ll receive the “quantity discount” on our website for ordering the exact same item.

b.  If you are unsure of your bridesmaids wrist sizes and want to keep the jewelry a surprise/secret, this is a wonderful way of getting them a jewelry gift that includes adjustable sizing, so not to offend anyone on their own size and to be sure they have an accessory they can wear.

c.  It is cheaper to upgrade to the extender chain while customizing your bracelet when ordering, versus getting the jewelry in the mail and realizing that the bracelets are too small.  Leaving you sending them back for restringing – which costs extra, or ordering extender chains separate – which are more expensive to purchase after the fact (because they require more materials to make them separate – we have to charge more).

Negatives of Extender Chains: We really don’t see a negative in an extender chain.  Some brides prefer not to have a chain “dangling” on their bridesmaids wrists – but we do finish all of our extender chains with color coordinated pearl and crystal drops that match the bracelet you’ve customized.
